The ShoreLine Cinema is an independent Cinema established in the seaside town of Waikanae in 2008. The Shoreline Crew bring their passion for good film and Hospitality to the Kapiti coast and look forward to sharing the experience that encapsulates boutique cinema with you. We pride ourselves with the effort we make in our coffee using the sumptuous Rangitoto espresso blend from Allpress coffee. W

e offer quality range of Craft beers and wines including the award winning range of Tuatara beers made by the blokes just up the road. Throw into the mix New Zealand's iconic icecream from Fredrick Charles Rush Munro, and making life delicious we have an assortment of delights from our local Olde Beach Bakery. For those of you who enjoy a more technical spin, our cinema features two state of the art auditoriums, with Digital projection. Both theatres are fully air-conditioned and feature 7.1 Dolby surround sound. They are also equipped with the latest hearing-impaired technologies. You can enjoy all this in our supremely comfortable couches, especially designed for our theatre. The ShoreLine is a constantly changing panorama offering new discoveries and insights. Filmmaker Andrew Niccol was born in Paraparaumu and went on to find success in Hollywood by writing the screen play for ‘The Truman Show’ and other high concept science fiction films. Now he turns his camera and his imagination towards the small and everyday objects in a family film I OBJECT about a 10-year-old boy seeking help in the loss of his father. Starring Karl Urban, Anna Faris and Jemaine Clement in this Wellington filmed project. Another film asking us to look a something from a different perspective is COLOURS OF TIME. The film pieces together two different timelines, 1895 and the present day revealing the exciting life of a young Adele venturing off to Paris at such a stimulating time of Art and Invention. Two extremely different films this week, one epic set in the times of Greek mythology and one ensemble piece in a contemporary Manhattan apartment building but oddly, they’re both about pushing the boundaries of Love and Marriage. THE ODDESSEY sees Matt Damon playing the Greek Warrior King of Ithaca fighting his way back to his beloved Queen played by Anne Hathaway. THE INVITE has Josh Rogan, Olivia Wilde, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton, two married couples who are also neighbours, at a dinner party and…the sparks begin to fly.
Its that thing called love which makes the world go round for thousands of years!

There are reasons that the TOY STORY series is the most successful animation franchise of all time. It could be the characters, it could be the stories, it could be the humour, it could be the quality of the animation, but it is probably because it is appreciated by children and adults alike. In TOY STORY 5 Woody, Buzz and the gang are back; 8-year-old Bonnie struggles to make real-life friends, leading her parents to buy her a tablet called "Lilypad". With Jessie leading the crew, the traditional toys must compete with digital screens for Bonnie's attention, ultimately banding together to help her find a true, imagination-loving friend.
So, if you’re a grown-up who likes Toy Story, that’s okay. Please tell us and we could get some evening sessions happening.

We may be a small out of the way local cinema, but you never know who you may be watching a movie with, as so happened last Sunday. Staff served a handsome young man waiting to go into the afternoon session of Tuner. Sitting below the poster with his face all over it was none other than Leo Woodall the English actor currently on the up and up.
When recognised he explained that he hadn’t seen the film since it was completed 18months ago. Respecting his wishes for privacy we won’t publish any pictures but if you do want to see him, the Tuner at the Shoreline is your best bet. Oh, by way he sat in seat D1.
