SUM-AG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
SNHS SUPER 24 CHORALE
Policy on Membership Withdrawal and Immediate Leaving
(Aligned with DepEd Co-Curricular Activities and SSLG Policies)
I. Legal and Policy Basis
This policy is anchored on the following:
DepEd Order No. 44, s. 2015 – Guidelines on the Enhanced School Improvement Planning (SIP)
DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016 – Policy Guidelines on the National Student Government (Supreme Student Government / SSLG)
DepEd Order No. 49, s. 2022 – Promotion of Learner Participation in Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
DepEd Child Protection Policy (DO 40, s. 2012)
SSLG Constitution and By-Laws (Student Discipline, Accountability, and Participation)
These policies emphasize learner responsibility, discipline, accountability, and continuity of participation in recognized school organizations.
II. Policy Statement
The SNHS Super 24 Chorale, as a school-recognized co-curricular organization under the supervision of the faculty adviser and in coordination with the SSLG, does not allow immediate or unapproved withdrawal of members, particularly during active rehearsal periods and confirmed performances.
III. Rationale
In accordance with DepEd and SSLG principles:
Shared Responsibility
Learners involved in school organizations are expected to honor their responsibilities once they commit to membership.
Continuity of School Programs
DepEd encourages sustained participation to ensure quality implementation of school programs, performances, and representations.
Learner Discipline and Accountability
Abrupt withdrawal without due process contradicts SSLG values of responsibility, leadership, and integrity.
School Representation
The chorale officially represents SNHS in internal and external activities; sudden withdrawal may compromise program quality and institutional credibility.
IV. Reasons Immediate Leaving Is Not Allowed
Disruption of Approved School Activities
Choir performances are approved school activities; sudden withdrawal affects implementation and outcomes.
Impact on Team-Based Learning
Choral singing requires cooperation and collective discipline, aligned with DepEd’s emphasis on collaborative learning.
Welfare of Other Learners
Immediate leaving places undue pressure on remaining members and affects morale.
V. Proper Procedure for Withdrawal
In line with DepEd and SSLG procedures:
The member must submit a written request for withdrawal stating valid and reasonable grounds.
The request shall be reviewed by the Choir Adviser/Conductor in coordination with the SSLG Adviser, when applicable.
A transition period shall be observed to ensure continuity of rehearsals and performances.
Withdrawal requests during an ongoing or approved performance season may be deferred until obligations are fulfilled.
Clearance must be secured before official withdrawal is granted.
VI. Repercussions of Immediate and Unapproved Leaving
Subject to school and SSLG disciplinary processes, the following may apply:
Disqualification from current and scheduled choir performances.
Loss of eligibility for future participation in elite or representative school groups.
Documentation of non-compliance with organizational responsibilities.
Possible disciplinary intervention consistent with the SSLG Constitution and school policies.
All actions shall observe due process and the DepEd Child Protection Policy.
VII. Statement of Values
The SNHS Super 24 Chorale upholds the DepEd core values of Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa, alongside SSLG ideals of leadership, responsibility, unity, and service.
Membership in the chorale is both an honor and a responsibility. Learners are expected to act with maturity, respect procedures, and uphold the good name of Sum-ag National High School.
VIII. Effectivity
This policy shall take effect immediately upon approval and shall be incorporated into the SNHS Super 24 Chorale Handbook and SSLG-recognized organization guidelines.
