We will traverse alternate imaginations through the act of singing, listening and watching!

Kitabghar and Cinema 73 welcome New York City–based archive and press Khajistan to Karachi for a reading circle and Khajistan bazaar.
Karachi, After Midnight is a multi-volume series drawn from a gay man’s online diary from Pakistan’s dial-up internet years (2003–2009). The entries were published as blog posts before the rise of social media and record everyday life in Karachi as it unfolded: crushes, monsoons, first kisses, family life, power cuts, and the city after dark.
The reading will feature selected entries from Volume 1, followed by a conversation.
The bazaar will offer limited copies of Karachi, After Midnight, along with stickers, patches, apparel, and other publications from Khajistan.

🚨🌹 NEWS FLASH: Join us at the screening of Zahra Mansoor’s film “Doomed love trope” from 5pm to 7.30pm at Cinema 73.

It will be followed by a conversation between and the artists about the shaadi circus that envelops us in decemberistan and how society produces and places heteronormativity on a pedestal by funding and producing the shaadi theatre.

Followed by a short tabla recital by

Come dressed to kill in a casual evening shaadi attire.

The screening accompanies the exhibition FANAA IS THE ECLIPSE opening Jan 13 (on until Jan 22) by at curated by .b.ahmed
