Embarrassment is the cost of entry.
If you want to succeed.
When you start something new, you suck at it.
You'll sound terrible on day one of French.
Embarrassment stops people from even trying.
That's why kids learn so quickly.
They aren't afraid of mistakes.
You shouldn't be either.
Here's what I do when starting new:
𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 1: 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁
Build a brand? Post every day.
Learn a language? Speak with that bad accent.
𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 2: 𝗕𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁
Don't let embarrassment and setbacks discourage you.
Every mistake is a learning opportunity.
𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 3: 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 1% 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆
Small, consistent improvements compound over time.
Focus on improving just slightly over yesterday.
By applying those rules over the years:
- I learned 8 foreign languages from scratch
- Grew a tech consulting unit to multi-million revenue
- Now launching my own AI advisory firm
What works for you when starting from zero?
