As curtas-metragens “Vermelhos do Asfalto”, de João Niza Ribeiro, e “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade, integram a seleção oficial do Festival de Cinema de Cracóvia. O novo de filme de João Niza Ribeiro terá a sua estreia mundial no programa de curtas-metragens internacionais, enquanto o filme de Marta Reis Andrade fará, na mesma secção, a sua estreia na Polónia. Em 2026, o festival celebra a sua 66.ª edição, que decorrerá entre 31 de maio e 7 de junho na cidade de Cracóvia, com sessões presenciais e também online, através da sua plataforma de streaming, entre 5 e 19 de junho.

[𝗘𝗡] The short films “Asphalt Reds”, directed by João Niza Ribeiro, and “Dog Alone”, by Marta Reis Andrade, have been selected for the official programme of the Krákow Film Festival. The new film by João Niza Ribeiro will have its world premiere in the international short film programme, while Marta Reis Andrade’s film will have its Polish premiere in the same section. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 66th edition, taking place from May 31st to June 7th in Krakow, with in-person screenings and an online programme available on its streaming platform from June 5th to 19th.

Os filmes “Amarelo Banana”, de Alexandre Sousa, “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade, e “Porque Hoje é Sábado”, de Alice Eça Guimarães, estão nomeados para Melhor Curta-Metragem de Animação nos Prémios Sophia. Em 2026, a Academia Portuguesa de Cinema promove a 15.ª edição destes prémios, dedicados às melhores produções do cinema nacional, sob o tema “Projetar o presente, imaginar o futuro”. Os vencedores serão anunciados na cerimónia de entrega de prémios, a 15 de maio, no Centro Cultural de Belém, com transmissão em direto na RTP2.

[𝗘𝗡] The films “Amarelo Banana”, directed by Alexandre Sousa, “Dog Alone”, by Marta Reis Andrade, and “Because Today is Saturday”, by Alice Eça Guimarães, have been nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the Sophia Awards. In 2026, the APC – Portuguese Film Academy presents the 15th edition of the awards, dedicated to the best in Portuguese cinema, under the theme “Projecting the present, imagining the future.” Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on May 15th, at the Belém Cultural Center, with a live broadcast on RTP2.

O filme “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade, foi distinguido com o Prémio de Melhor Curta-Metragem de Animação Ibero-Americana na 9.ª edição dos Prémios Quirino de Animação Ibero-Americana. O júri foi composto por Cesar Cabral, Hoe Honan, Marlyn Montano, Martha Sepúlveda e Krešimir Zubčić. A cerimónia de entrega de prémios decorreu a 17 de abril, no Auditório de Tenerife Adán Martín, em Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Espanha).

[𝗘𝗡] The film “Dog Alone”, directed by Marta Reis Andrade, was awarded Best Ibero-American Animated Short Film at the 9th edition of the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation. The jury was composed of Cesar Cabral, Hoe Honan, Marlyn Montano, Martha Sepúlveda, and Krešimir Zubčić. The awards ceremony took place on April 17th at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain).

As curtas-metragens “La Durmiente”, de Maria Inês Gonçalves; “Rui Carlos”, de Margarida Paias; “Beli Dani”, de Nevena Desivojević; “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade; “Les Habitants”, de Maureen Fazendeiro; “Neko”, de Inês Oliveira; e “Porque Hoje é Sábado”, de Alice Eça Guimarães, integram a Competição Nacional da 9.ª edição do Porto Femme – Festival Internacional de Cinema. O festival apresentará ainda “O Pássaro de Dentro”, de Laura Anahory, na Competição de Filmes de Estudantes. Com a missão de dar visibilidade a mulheres e pessoas não-binárias no cinema, o festival decorre entre 20 e 26 de abril de 2026, na cidade do Porto.

O novo filme de Inês Pedrosa e Melo terá a sua estreia mundial no programa “Whatever It Takes”, integrado na secção de curtas-metragens do festival. Em 2026, o festival celebra a sua 25.ª edição, que decorrerá entre 3 e 14 de junho, em Nova Iorque (EUA).

[𝗘𝗡] The short films “The Dark Knot at the Center”, directed by Inês Pedrosa e Melo, and “Because Today is Saturday”, by Alice Eça Guimarães, have been selected for the official programme of the Tribeca Festival. A curta-metragem “Ofélia”, de Carlos Lobo, integra a seleção oficial de curtas-metragens em competição do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, onde terá a sua estreia internacional. Após a sua estreia mundial em Portugal no Curtas Vila do Conde – Festival Internacional de Cinema, o filme chega agora à ilha de Gran Canaria, no âmbito da 25.ª edição do festival, que decorrerá entre 23 de abril e 3 de maio de 2026.

[𝗘𝗡] The short film “Ofélia”, directed by Carlos Lobo, has been selected for the official short film competition of the LPA International Film Festival, where it will have its international premiere. Following its world premiere in Portugal at the Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival, the film will now be screened on the island of Gran Canaria during the festival’s 25th edition, taking place from April 23rd to May 3rd, 2026.

A curta-metragem “Porque Hoje é Sábado”, de Alice Eça Guimaraes, integra a Competição Internacional da 29.ª edição do Brussels Short Film Festival . Após a sua estreia no Cinemamed – Festival Cinéma Méditerranéen de Bruxelles em 2025, o filme regressa a Bruxelas para integrar a competição internacional do festival, com exibição no Flagey. No âmbito da programação paralela, a curta-metragem Ice Merchants, de João Gonzalez, será exibida num programa especial do Kortfilmfestival Leuven, enquanto “Percebes”, de Alexandra Ramires e Laura Goncalves, compete pelo Prémio do Público Europeu, no âmbito da iniciativa ESFAA - European Short Film Audience Award. A edição de 2026 do festival decorre entre 22 de abril e 2 de maio.

[𝗘𝗡] The short film “Because Today is Saturday”, directed by Alice Eça Guimarães, has been selected for the International Competition of the 29th edition of the Brussels International Short Film Festival. Following its premiere at the Cinemamed – Festival Cinéma Méditerranéen de Bruxelles in 2025, the film returns to Brussels to compete in the festival’s international competition, with a screening at Flagey. As curtas-metragens “Rui Carlos”, de Margarida Paias, e “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade, integram a seleção oficial da 23.ª edição do IndieLisboa – Festival Internacional de Cinema. Após as suas estreias no Curtas Vila do Conde – Festival Internacional de Cinema em 2025, os filmes chegam agora a Lisboa para integrar a secção IndieJúnior, com sessões no Cinema São Jorge, Culturgest e Voz do Operário. Dirigido a crianças e jovens dos 4 meses aos 15 anos, o IndieJúnior Lisboa decorrerá entre 30 de abril e 10 de maio de 2026.

[𝗘𝗡] The short films “Rui Carlos”, directed by Margarida Paias, and “Dog Alone”, directed by Marta Reis Andrade, have been selected for the official programme of the 23rd edition of the IndieLisboa International Film Festival. Following their premieres at the Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival in 2025, the films now arrive in Lisbon to be screened in the IndieJúnior section, with screenings at the Cinema São Jorge, Culturgest, and Voz do Operário. Aimed at children and young audiences aged 4 months to 15 years, IndieJúnior Lisboa will take place from April 30th to May 10th, 2026.

A curta-metragem “Porque Hoje é Sábado”, de Alice Eça Guimarães, integra a seleção oficial da 69.ª edição do San Francisco International Film Festival. Selecionado para a Competição de Curtas-Metragens de Animação, o filme terá a sua estreia na Califórnia neste festival, que decorre na cidade de São Francisco. Reconhecido como o festival de cinema mais antigo das Américas, o evento terá lugar entre 24 de abril e 4 de maio de 2026.

[𝗘𝗡] The short film “Because Today is Saturday”, directed by Alice Eça Guimarães, has been selected for the official programme of the 69th edition of the San Francisco International Film Festival. Selected for the Animated Short Film Competition, the film will have its California premiere at the festival, held in San Francisco. A curta-metragem “Cão Sozinho”, de Marta Reis Andrade, integra a Competição Internacional da 38.ª edição do Filmfest Dresden – Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens de Dresden. No âmbito do festival, os filmes “Rui Carlos”, de Margarida Paias, e “Porque Hoje é Sábado”, de Alice Eça Guimarães, serão também apresentados em sessões de cinema ao ar livre. Dedicado exclusivamente ao cinema no seu formato mais curto, o festival decorre entre 14 e 19 de abril de 2026, na cidade de Dresden.

[𝗘𝗡] The short film “Dog Alone”, directed by Marta Reis Andrade, has been selected for the International Competition of the 38th edition of the Filmfest Dresden – International Short Film Festival. Also at the festival, the films “Rui Carlos”, by Margarida Paias, and “Because Today is Saturday”, by Alice Eça Guimarães, will be screened in open-air cinema sessions.
