🎬 The verdict is in...
My faithful Sunday Matinee ladies just walked out of Disclosure Day, and they absolutely loved it! ❤️ I have to admit, I was a little nervous because it's an alien-themed movie, and I wasn't sure what they'd think. But they all agreed—it was wonderful!
If you've been on the fence about seeing it, now's your chance! We have just TWO showings left in Ada:
👽 Today (Sunday) at 4:00 PM
👽 Monday at 4:00 PM
Now, I also wanted to share my thoughts on The Death of Robin Hood.
I went last night, and I honestly enjoyed it much more than I expected. If you're looking for the classic Robin Hood tale full of nonstop action and stealing from the rich, this isn't that movie—and that's what makes it so interesting.
This is the story of an aging Robin Hood at the end of his life. It's reflective, emotional, and beautifully acted. You see a man carrying guilt and regret, no longer the larger-than-life outlaw the legends made him out to be. Along the way, he finds himself protecting and caring for Little John's young daughter, and what unfolds is a touching, bittersweet story about redemption, legacy, and how we choose to be remembered.
It has a gritty medieval atmosphere that reminded me a bit of the Vikings television series. There are some violent moments early on, but it's far more of a character-driven drama than an action film. And Hugh Jackman delivers a wonderful performance.
(*Don't be surprised if anyone's allergies start acting up at the end or if your date gets something in their eye 😢)
⭐ Showing tonight (Sunday) at 7:00 PM
⭐ One final showing Monday at 7:00 PM
Both films leave Ada after tomorrow, so if you've been thinking about catching either one, this is your last opportunity. We hope to see you at the Orpheum!
