We were built in 2015 as an all digital stadium seating theater. At the time, we had 1 of only 1200 screens to feature Dolby Atmos immersive surround sound. We did not cut corners when bringing this luxury entertainment venue to our small town.

However, without theater experience- we didn’t know what to expect and when this film reel showed up… we were so confused. Many theaters changed from film to digital so there was some familiarity with the reel. We had never seen one. We’ve only experienced the digital side of projection.

Some miracles are bigger than others…

This 28 minute mini doc will premiere on 6/18 at 6:30. Meaning you will have time go catch it before the 7:15 Toy Story or other 7:00 movies. We will have some special guests for the premiere but the film will play throughout the summer so you can catch it at your convenience.

Admission for the premiere is $1 and the first 42 people will get a popcorn.

42 Days: The Grayson Pope Story" is an inspiring documentary produced by Torch Sports, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's (UTK) student-run sports media program. The film chronicles the remarkable true story of incoming UTK baseball freshman Grayson Pope. In 2023, Pope survived a tragic golf cart accident when a tree fell on his cart. The impact knocked him unconscious and left him in a coma for exactly 42 days. Despite the long recovery, the University of Tennessee honored his baseball scholarship. The documentary highlights his perseverance, his journey back to Rocky Top, and his current role inspiring his teammates.

Average ticket price nationally: $16.08
Average ticket price in TN: $14.03

Average ticket at the Palace : $9.25
Matinee at the Palace: $7

Matinee at a nearby chain: $13.99(before tax)

For reference, in 2015, the average ticket price was $8.43 nationally. The Palace average was $8. Our matinee was $6.

One thing that has stayed consistent: the studio taking up to 75% of the ticket sales.

Despite the rising costs of literally everything, we’ve kept our prices nearly the same.

If you’ve only been to chains, and avoid the theater because of the price, you might be surprised to know- it doesn’t have to be that way.

A $77 order would have been $38 here. We know a small town locally owned business isn’t for everyone, but before you give up on theaters entirely, give us a try.

New movies for 6/5 include Masters of the Universe (we should have some concession items for this), and Scary Movie. We will also have Backrooms, The Breadwinner, and Mandalorian&Grogu.

We hear ya. Concessions do seem expensive.
For most small businesses, we are just trying to pay the bills so we can continue to support our community.

It’s not corporate greed. We aren’t buying private jets. It’s just the nature of the industry.

Over on the Tok, a video from a month ago got over 350,000 views on Saturday- leading to many comments.

In the video, our Director followed the suggestion of her childhood best friend, Egz. And watched Project Hail Mary. Although, it’s not uncommon for us to watch movies when we aren’t open, the internet was amazed.

Full of questions and comments- including a dare to watch Backrooms the same way.
