A very cool video from the recent 2026 Placer County Ag Tour. So much goodness out there.

You know what makes Placer County different? It isn't just the soil or the weather (though both help).

It's the people who chose to keep doing this work.

This year, those people took us to Terra Madre Americas. They opened their barns for the Farm & Barn Tour. They reminded us, again, that the women in our fields have carried this place since long before anyone called it the International Year of the Woman Farmer.

170 years in. 1,000 family farms strong. They deserved a year worth bragging about.

The market on a spring morning is its own kind of medicine.

Strawberries still warm from the field, bundles of just-cut flowers, a vendor who knows your name and saves your favorite jam. The smell of fresh bread before you've even had coffee.

Farmers' markets are running all across the county right now. And the best part? There's one happening somewhere in Placer County almost every day.

Find your nearest market and make a morning of it:

INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE WOMAN FARMER | From strawberry rows to lavender fields, women are tending this county in every direction. This month, we're proud to spotlight six more women who are growing, raising, and building something lasting right here in Placer County!

✨ Liz Bunz, Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm
✨ Elisabeth Saechao, Granny Mays Strawberry Farm Auburn-Folsom
✨ Cathy Stanphill, Newcastle Lavender Farms
✨ Rebecca Stanphill, Newcastle Lavender Farms
✨ Diane Bollinger, Foothill Roots Farm
✨ Karin Sinclair, Sinclair Family Farm

Some started with a single 4-H project. Others planted 2-inch lavender starts and waited years to see them bloom. All of them chose this land and stayed.

Know a woman farmer we should spotlight? Drop her name in the comments or send us a DM. There's always another story worth telling.

Two records, one county, and a whole lot of reasons to be proud of where we live. Placer County's 2024 ag value hit a historic $111 million, and tourism is breaking records right alongside it. Read why these two stories are really one story in Roseville Today's piece below.

This is exactly the conversation we'll be having at the Visit Placer Quality of Life Summit on May 13. Local farms, local food, and the visitor economy that helps keep them thriving.

Curious what's fueling the growth? Follow along!
