Hello Everyone,
Well we have an early review for you today of a film that I'm sure many of you are surprised to see coming obsession. Now I'll admit its extremely rare for us to get a horror film. Much less give it a rave review, but in good faith I could not let one of the best performances of the year pass us by. So lets talk about obsession.
Whats it about: A lonely guy has a huge crush on a girl he works with. But after he can't scounge the courage to ask her out, he instead enlist the help of a sketchy loooking product called. The one wish willow, where you get one wish. He wishes for the girl to love him more than anything and well he gets his wish.
Is it ok for kids? NO N O NO. This film doesn't have as much blood as a typical horror film. But there are two brutal scenes. 17 and up definitely.
Is it good? The film has a very familiar plot to the classic monkey's paw type of story. But where this film lacks in premise makes up for in the sheer quality of the acting. Particularly the young actress pkaying the girl. The way she can convey every emotion in a creepy looking face thats almost normal is incredible. The film's main charector is intended as a self insert for the male audience members. But the sheer sense of dread, is just incredible as this very sweet start slow turns worse and worse. To say the least its one of the films I didn't see coming and deserves its place in the best of the year so far. so 9/10 Owner Highly Recommends

Hello All,
We know you all have anxiously been awaiting my review of pressure. So without further delay let's talk about it.
What's it about? The true story of the man that was tasked with predicting the weather for D-day.
Is it good for kids? The film does have brief battle scenes and depictions of blood. 12 and up should be fine.
Is it good? So for this film it taught me something I never considered about war. The importance of accurate weather prediction. The film has some powerhouse performances and in the end gets its point accross. However the film does have some unfortunate flaws which does detract from it.
So the first flaw is definitely the pacing of the script. For some reason it felt like we were speedrunning a story, that was not in any hurry. But because of this it effected one performance in particular (We will talk about that in a moment) but also made it so they cut the parts explaining the art of predicting the weather. Thus we are left we knowing our protagonist is right, why, don't know. In fact you'll find yourself more persuaded by the guy the film shows is wrong.
The second issue is Brendan Fraser's performance. In a film where you have very strong acting his was just cartoonishly over the top. I think due to hte runtime constraints of the film, they had to make his charector more overt, to keep the film rolling. But it makes him seem silly and irrational.
Now the films strong points are the performances of all the other cast memebers. It also perfectly shows why what they are doing is important and is genuinely interesting. So I am giving it a 7.75/10 for a film that is informative but needed a bit more runtime.

You're Dating a Narcissist!:
What's it about: A head strong author who wrote the book on Narcissistic lovers, is thrown through a loop when her daughter gets engaged after only six weeks. So our mom goes to see if this mysterious man is what she thinks he is.
Is it good for kids? It does have mild nudity and implied intimacy. Nothing crazy though so 14 and ups fine.
Is it good? Ok once again I know I'm not the target demographic for this film. But I have to say I really had fun with this little movie. It stars the ever great Marisa Tomei (Yes that one) and is just a good old fun time. The fun though is that the plot is predictable but the fascinating part is turning cliches on its head. Since our main charector is a pyschologist, she looks at things we wouldn't bat an eye normally in a film like this in a whole new lense. To the point where up until 15 minutes left in the film my employee who was watching with me and myself were debating if the guy, the daughter, or even the mother was the true narcissist. So any film which gets me thinking and has fun deserves a good grade. So 7.75/10 for a fun predictable time. Please know this film will only be with us for 5 days through wednesday.

Hello Everyone!
It has FINALLY happened. We know our members have been clamouring for the ability to buy their tickets online and now it's available starting today. Now due to requests from the studios, to not affect ticket averages in the area. The online ticket price is 9 dollars for members, but every ticket will include $3 in food vouchers (which is also refundable) to keep it at the same value as the in-person tickets. In-person tickets will not change and remain half priced.
