The Community Theatre The Community Theater is a historic theater in Catskill, NY showing a mix of first-run and classic cinema. Come see a movie!

Built in 1920, The Community Theatre has two movie screens and a vaudeville stage. We show the latest releases, repertory classics, and independent films, and are available for live performances. Ticket prices are as follows:

On Sunday August 9, join us (and ) for a screening of ROCK N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL!

Teen punkette Riff Randall (P.J. Soles of CARRIE and HALLOWEEN) has one abiding fantasy: to meet the dreamy Ramones, and get them to perform one of her songs. Standing in her way is Principal Togar (Warhol star Mary Woronov), who runs Vince Lombardi High like a despot — until the boys from Forest Hills lead a student body putsch and rock the school down to its foundations.

Released in 2016, Mike Mills' 20TH CENTURY WOMEN is a warm and funny work of passionate artistry, creating a moving group portrait of particular people in a particular place (Santa Barbara) at a particular moment in the 20th century (1979), one lovingly attended detail at a time.

The great Annette Bening, in one of her very best performances, is Dorothea, a single mother raising her teenage son, Jamie (Lucas Jade Zumann), in a sprawling bohemian house, which is shared by an itinerant carpenter (Billy Crudup) and a punk artist with a Bowie haircut (Greta Gerwig) and frequented by Jamie’s rebellious friend Julie (Elle Fanning).

Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Ken Marino, and David Hyde Pierce.

The next edition of the PRE K MATINEE on Sunday, July 26, features the 2009 Disney hit THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG. Set in New Orleans during the Jazz Age, a young girl named Tiana has a fateful encounter with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again.

The Pre-K Matinee is a screening series for children aged 2-5 and their families that’s our answer to story time! We keep the lights on low and the sound a little lower than usual to make the theater a less overwhelming experience for all. Plus we’ll have special concessions for children to enjoy!
