One week from today, State Theatre of Chamberlain will be the place of the greatest nightmares of all time!! 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' was the first of the new psychological terror!! It has all the jump scares and slasher horror known from Hitchcock and Friday The 13th, but Wes Craven finally figured out how to make all of us terrified to go to bed - and Robert Englund's Freddy Kruger contained the exact mixture of menacing and mysterious. Rated R
'A Nightmare On Elm Street' (the original 1984 version) will be showing one-night-only at State Theatre:
Thursday (Oct 29th) at 7p - all seats $5

Next Thursday, Oct 29th at 7p, we'll be doing a special screening of the first psychological horror film - 'A Nightmare On Elm Street'
And we'll be following that with a weekend of the psychological thriller 'Verity', an adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel.

'Heart of the Beast' follows Special Forces officer James Belmont and his retired combat dog Odin after a plane crash in Alaska. 'Heart of the Beast' is often harrowing, but it tells a moving story about the bond between a man and his dog. For this action/adventure film about survival, Brad Pitt worked with his co-star Uber, a search-and-rescue dog, for weeks. The result is a film about two friends working together and sacrificing for one another. The result is also a film being talked about for major industry awards!!
'Heart of the Beast' is showing (one more time!!) at State Theatre:
TONIGHT (Oct 20th) at 7p - all seats $5

TONIGHT we are pleased to be offering up a genuinely Oscar worthy film!! 'Heart of the Beast' won't be a good movie for the family - it can be a tough go - but it will be a great movie for everyone who wants one. Action-adventure drama with two great actors! Brad Pitt plays a soldier returned home with his canine companion, Uber. While Uber does have a few stand-ins, his soulful eyes and ability to convey his fright and other feelings have people talking about the first Academy Award for Best Dog!!
