Many of us recognize Amish life by the horse-and-buggy, simple living, and strong traditions. But what happens when Amish families move off the farm and into new careers?

Join author and University of Dayton professor Susan Trollinger for Moving Off the Farm and Trying to Stay Amish, an eye-opening look at how Amish communities are adapting to change while working to preserve their identity.

🚧 Elevator Temporarily Out of Service 🚧

We want to let our patrons know that the library elevator will be out of order for the next few weeks while repairs are underway. During this time, some programs may be moved to different areas of the library to ensure everyone can still participate comfortably.

We’ll be updating our website, Facebook events, and other listings as quickly as possible, but if you’re attending a program, please stop by the front desk when you arrive to confirm which room your group is meeting in that day.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to get the elevator back up and running.

Children’s literacy was a cause close to Dolly Parton’s heart. To help continue this mission, we have a selection of books for free on a cart in the lobby of Marvin Memorial Library. All children should have access to books and we want children in our community to be readers!

If your child is under the age of 5, they are eligible for The Imagination Library. Each month the organization sends a free book directly to your home. Information about the program is available at the library or at https://imaginationlibrary.com.
