When veteran newscaster Howard Beale (Peter Finch) learns he’s being fired because the network believes his age is negatively impacting ratings, he announces he will kill himself on his final broadcast. In a surprising turn of events, Howard’s announcement leads to a spike in ratings which attracts the attention of an enterprising programming executive (Faye Dunaway).

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a new restoration, Network is one of the finest American satires exploring the media, corporatization, and the fetishization of spectacle.

For the 7 p.m. Saturday, July 11 screening, Ragtag Cinema, KOPN, and Vidwest are teaming up to raise money for a cause all three organizations share: keeping independent, community-powered media alive and well in Columbia, Missouri. For this screening only, we are holding a special reception with complimentary refreshments and popcorn starting at 6:15 p.m., and the film will be followed by a virtual Q&A with director Carl Deal.

Featuring the best of electronic music, Modulations: Cinema for the Ear traces the evolution of this genre in the 20th century across the globe.

As we gear up for the Mizzou International Composers Festival — featuring electronic artists Jlin, RP Boo, and Maxubishi — join us for a free screening of the electronica documentary “Modulations,” followed by a panel discussion about the film and its connections to MICF with MICF Artistic Director Stefan Freund, MICF Associate Director Tiffany Skidmore, and Dismal Niche President Matthew Crook, moderated by Ragtag Film Society Executive Director and former MICF Managing Director Andrea Luque Káram.

Family, friends, and staff gathered to share stories about Bill and watch one of his favorite True/False Film Fest movies "The Music of Strangers." We are immensely grateful for the legacy he and his wife, Linda, have left on our organization.
