Ragtag Cinema proudly presents the inaugural Home Movies: Local Filmmaker Showcase. This FREE event screens short films made in Missouri and includes a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Some films in this program may not be suitable for very young children due to adult themes. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

MOMENTS [Narrative Short, 7 mins, 2026] - Dir. Madeline Otero
A young amateur photographer caught between life and death is forced to relive the final moments she captured on film, confronting her fears as each photo pulls her closer to the end.

VACANT AISLES [Narrative Short, 13 mins, 2026] - Dir. Brennen Cline
Two mall employees who are adrift in life are confronted with the fact that they need to make a change.

BARBER [Documentary Short, 11 mins, 2026] - Dir. Kyle Button
Barber provides a look into one of the most intimate male spaces, the barbershop.

⏪️ FREE FOR MEMBERS! 7PM SATURDAY, SEPT. 12: THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH

Adapted from the 1963 novel of the same name, "The Man Who Fell to Earth" follows the alien Thomas Jerome Newton (David Bowie) who lands on Earth while on a mission to bring water to his drought-stricken home planet; instead, he finds himself captive to the darkness and corruption of humans. Renowned for being the acting debut of Bowie as well as one of the finest films from British Director Nicolas Roeg, this film has endured as a cult classic for 50 years because of its novel fusion of science fiction and surrealism.

This 50th anniversary presentation of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" is free for Ragtag Cinema members. Arrive early at 6:15 p.m. for a members-only reception featuring complimentary treats and beverages. Want to attend this screening for free? Become a member today!

In the remote South Korea village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung-min) and officer Sung-ae (Hoyeon) are tasked with bringing down a mysterious creature that is destroying the village. In the nearby forest, a group of hunters are on the trail of the violent creature but find themselves as the prey instead. However, all is not as it seems, and their desperate attempts to survive might trigger further tragedy.

From Korean Director Na Hong-jin ("The Wailing") comes an epic science-fiction creature feature.

In 1998, corporate defense lawyer Robert Bilott (Mark Ruffalo) uncovers a dark secret linking the growing number of unexplained deaths in rural West Virginia communities to one of the world’s largest chemical companies. When he decides to take on an environmental lawsuit against the corporation, Robert finds that his career, family, and his own life are at risk.

Based on real events, "Dark Waters" is a legal thriller from acclaimed Director Todd Haynes. This free screening, presented by Renew Missouri, will be introduced by the organization's Executive Director James Owen.
