We are excited to announce that we at the display are going to celebrate our nations 250th anniversary Coulterville style !!!! We are dedicating our 2026 edition to all the veterans who are responsible for our Freedom . Our 2026 edition will feature many unique displays to share our gratitude to our veterans and our wonderful country .

1.) We will be creating signage available to purchase for veterans that will be displayed in our special hero section of our park . (We will have an online option to purchase signs this summer )
2.) Our Hero section will also feature a special video honoring our great nation and veterans that will be playing on one of our big screens. For the first time ever we plan on opening our hero section of the display on Veterans Day as a memorial to the sacrifices made by our heros that allows us to celebrate 250 years of freedom this year.
3.) Our park will be glowing with half a million red, white , & blue lights this December as we celebrate America’s birthday in a way only Coulterville can do.
4.) Our drive thru tunnel as the ballpark will be a glowing 80 by 20 foot glowing American Flag.
5.) We will be creating a special display inside the park with featuring local history of the impact our local veterans have had on our community
6.) We will be honoring our veterans along our pathway with many of our display families creating a patriotic theme within their displays.
7.) we will be offering a special design celebrating Americas birthday on our display tshirts and gear (available to purchase online ). We also will be recognizing our veterans on our handouts and other documents passed out to our guests

We are excited to have the opportunity to send America 250 Birthday out in style as one of the largest patriotic displays in the country while having the chance to recognize our hero’s. We as always are always looking for new ideas, inspiration, and support to make this a reality. If you have ideas or would like to be part of this amazing venture please

The word community is often brought up when discussing our display as it is truly a community display . We want to recognize our community volunteers who make this possible . While our display is in Coulterville and our Coulterville friends support our display tremendously our display community has no boundaries. It always amazes us as how many people from all over Southern Illinois step up and support our display. As without each and everyone of our thousands of volunteers our display wouldn’t be possible. We want to give a special shout out to two of communities who have always gone above and beyond to support our display . First, I can’t thank our friends from Oakdale who have supported us since the beginning . They know a thing or two about small towns creating amazing events . As they was home to one of the coolest and largest Easter celebrations for years. Last year they gifted our display the remnants of the years of Easter magic and trusted us to keep sharing their love and talents for years to come at our display . We are so thankful for Oakdale’s support and hope to continue to share and honor those who created the Easter magic for years to come. Next up is our neighbors on the other side of town Sparta . The people have Sparta of supported our display for years from sponsorships , volunteering their time , to creating goodie bags and other donations . We are so thankful for these partnerships and the hundreds of others from communities all over who have helped us grow into what we are today . As we hope our display shows what amazing things we can create when we work together and put personal differences aside for betterment of our communities and youth .

We are often asked how long it takes to take down our display and how do we store it . It takes us around 2 weeks to dismantle the display and we put the lights in boxes to be stored till next year . It’s takes around 400 boxes to store the lights so it’s a good thing we know someone who’s owns a few Dairy Queen’s . We store our display in 3 buildings and inside our portable buildings we use during the display . Several of our display families also volunteer to house their yard decorations each year to help us out also .
