More Ancient Greek Mythology is coming to our screens next week! Join us for HADESTOWN: THE MUSICAL starting July 23 — with a special event screening in our Main Auditorium on Saturday, July 25 at 12pm with Des Moines Performing Arts - DMPA.

Don't miss the brand-new live theater capture of the hit musical Hadestown, which won eight Tony Awards in 2019. This genre-defying musical blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale.

Following two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.

For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Peter Morgan’s Netflix phenomenon The Crown was based on this hit play which was captured live from London’s West End in 2013 and went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions.
