Haar’s Drive-In

Haar’s Drive-In opened in Dillsburg Pennsylvania 67 years ago, when drive-ins were a huge thing. About 4,000 open-air theaters were open in the 1950s, and that has now whittled down to fewer than 300 today. The drive-in is opened weekends from Memorial Day weekend till Labor Day.

At Haar's Drive-In, Vickie Hardy serves as president of the family business, while sister Connie Darbrow is secretary and cousin Sandra Haar performs treasurer duties. They are the third generation of family members operating the drive-in and they continue to provide the community with entertainment and memories each weekend during the summer.

Haar's doesn't show R-rated movies (to stay family-centered), and the officers work hard to keep prices down: $8 for 12 years old and up; $3 for 3- to 11-year-olds. Also you will want to bring a radio since there are no speakers and your car battery can die after 4 hours. They do have radios to rent at their concession stand.

It's good old-fashioned family entertainment. Haar’s Drive-In is opened from Memorial Day weekend till Labor Day weekend, with events happening during the summer season. Information along with a concession menu and rules for the drive-in can be found on their website, www.haars.com or page!
