Thanks to everyone that took a chance on 'The Music of Chance' last night, that was a head-scratcher for sure! The Movie Loft research team is hard at work trying to determine where that stone wall was built and if it still stands. If anyone else has any leads then please chime in!

Movie Loft is thrilled to help present an evening with A. S. Hamrah () , critic for The Baffler, n+1, Harper’s and more, for a reading, conversation, and book signing at Letters Bookshop ().

His latest collection takes on corporate moviemaking, film history, and the state of cinema with clarity, bite, and real love for the medium.

He’ll also introduce Abbas Kiarostami’s Taste of Cherry on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 PM at Duke’s Rubenstein Arts Center. Free and open to the public.

If you care about movies beyond the algorithm, this one’s for you. 🎬

Whoa, 'Hardware' was a doozy! Thanks to everyone for dropping by the 'Box to experience the trip. That was maybe what you wanted, that was hopefully what you got! Per a couple of industrial discussions last night, here's a video of Blixa Bargeld helpfully pronouncing his band's name.

Hey alright, that was a darn good time last night with the 'Death Screams' though the Movie Loft team is still trying to tie up the loose ends of the plot(holes)! Thanks to everyone for booin' at the 'Box on National Horror Movie Day, and thanks to Matt Tauch for the choice glow-in-the-dark print! We'll most likely take November off, per usual, but stay tuned for December doings soon! Happy Halloween y'all!

It's alive! The Boo!!Durham Vol. 3 zine from the Movie Loft team is fresh from the catacombs and ready for your perusal. This edition is all early '70s Halloween spirit and Durham ephemera. Available now at the Scrap Exchange Artists Market, Letters Community Bookshop and Bull City Records. Hot Dog! Or, should we say, Corn Dog! A battered and fried thanks to everyone for taking in 'Carny' last night, that was extra fun! And an extended thanks to those that made corn dogs a reality, they turned out quite tasty indeed!
And if anyone is further curious about the long-gone phenomenon of carnival st*****rs, then we heartily recommend this book by photographer Susan Meiselas.
