To support our immune systems as we transition into the holiday season, we are pleased to offer another round of fire c***r making at the Rathbun Library on Tuesday, September 29th from 5:30-6:30pm, using variations on the traditional sweet-spicy-tangy folk tonic.

The library will provide all of the necessary ingredients. Participants, please bring your own knives, cutting boards, and Mason jars (as well as any additional garden or pantry ingredients you'd like to include). Recommended for Adults. Registration required; call or sign up online!

Bring an item you wish to bedazzle such as book, journal, phone case, wallet, etc. We will provide a the tools and gems, in a variety of colors, needed to bedazzle your item! The Spooky CT writing contest is back for another year!

Writers of all ages (kids - adults) are welcome to submit their spooky short stories between September 14th and October 16th.

Stories must be:
🎃A maximum of 2,750 words
🎃Set anywhere in CT (past, present or future)
🎃Have no excessive language or gore
🎃Use no AI must be an original piece
🎃Authors must live in the town in which they are submitting their stories

All submissions must be uploaded to our online submission form that will be up on our website starting Sept. 14th.

If you need assistance uploading your story, please stop by one of the libraries and we would be happy to help you get your story submitted!

The winning stories from each age group will be featured in a bound ‘best of’ story collection called Spooky CT alongside other winners from all over the state. We hope to see all of your best spooky stories this fall!

The World’s Greatest Roleplaying Game gives you the chance to take part in epic tales of adventure and fantasy. Tweens and Teens are invited to join in on the fun. Newbies are encouraged, veteran players are welcome. Information for nerds*:D&D 5e. Any official WotC Classes/Races eligible, custom class/race accepted on case-by-case basis. Players may start at level 3. Characters made at home are subject to DM approval. Pre-made characters available on game nights. *nerds are cool. At EHFPL on Friday, September 4 from 5-8pm.
