VISION: Cinema Center is the premier cultural center for the presentation of independent, foreign and documentary films in Northeast Indiana. Through special programming, outreach and education programs, Cinema Center provides a hub for filmmakers and film lovers to share and discuss the craft. 📽 THE WORK IN PROGRESS invites strangers from across generations and geographies to engage in candid discussions about America’s ever-evolving democracy, identity, and definitions of community — and where the heck we go from here. 🎬

Following the Thursday Sept. 17th screening of this film, we will have a post-film conversation with author activists Ann Larson (Cleanup On Aisle Five), Bill Fletcher, Jr. (Solidarity Divided: The crisis in organized labor and a new path toward social justice), Stan Gacek (global labor attorney). Film-goers can expect a conversation with panelists about building the economy and society we all want and need from the bottom up...from what unites us.

📽 As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her love of music and her fear of abandoning her parents. 🎬

Interpreters will be provided during this screening. After the screening, join us in conversation with Karen Horvath and AJ Cramer of DeafLink, the first and only agency offering a full range of services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.

DeafLink is sponsoring this screening for Deaf Awareness Month and providing ASL interpretation for attendees. ✨
