🧐 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THIS WEEKEND'S SPOOKY MOVIES!
LIMITED SCREENTIME! Ask anyone, and they'll tell you the main character from 1988's Beetlejuice was, of course, Beetlejuice himself. But despite being the titular character, Michael Keaton is only on screen for 14 minutes of the movie's 92-minute runtime!
OLD SCHOOL EFFECTS - For the sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, obviously CGI effects had come a long way since 1988. However, Tim Burton, the director, only agreed to take on the long-awaited sequel with the condition that CGI was minimized. All the old-school effects from the first movie are back including stop-motion animation, puppetry, and prosthetic makeup. It's true to the original!
SCARING THE KIDS - In 2017's IT, Director Andy Muschietti kept Bill Skarsgard away from the child actors until their first scenes on set. When you see their reaction to Pennywise, which is pure psychological shock, during the projector scene - it's genuine.
TOO MANY 'THINGS' TO DO - The incredible makeup and creature-effects designer for The Thing, Rob Bottin, worked 18-hour days for over a year to sculpt, cast, and operate the complex animatronics used in the film. He eventually suffered severe exhaustion, double pneumonia, and a bleeding ulcer. Director John Carpenter eventually ordered him to the hospital where he needed significant treatments.
