The Mandalorian and Grogu continues on screen at our nonprofit theater for another week! Tickets are available now at hiwaytheater.org

Set in the Star Wars universe and following the events of the wildly popular streaming series. The Mandalorian bounty hunter, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), is enlisted by a fledgling New Republic to clean up the remnants of the fallen evil Empire. Aiding Mando in this fight is his young force-sensitive apprentice Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda). A rip-roaring space adventure that evokes the classic movie serials that Star Wars was originally based on, THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU is a true big screen experience that can’t be missed! Also starring Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White and even Martin Scorsese.

Our Seventies Sundays Series continues with SMOKEY & THE BANDIT on June 21st. 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 hiwaytheater.org/specials

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Burt Reynolds stars as the fun-lovin’ and trash-talkin’ Bo “ Bandit” Darville – a truck driver who agrees to pick up a payload of Coors and drive them to Texas (which was illegal to to sell east of the Mississippi without a permit). He soon runs into trouble after picking up an attractive hitchhiker (Sally Field) with an overzealous Sheriff (Jackie Gleason) on her tail. SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT is a revved up B-movie at its core – featuring impressive car chases and an iconic theme song to boot.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Natasha Lyonne plays Megan, a typical all-American cheerleader who excels in school and is dating a football player. However, her lack of enthusiasm for kissing her boyfriend, interest in vegetarianism and Melissa Etheridge, and habit of staring at her fellow cheerleaders cause her parents to suspect their daughter may be a le***an. When Megan’s sent to a “conversion therapy” camp, she learns to embrace who she is with the help of love interest Graham (Clea DuVall). This biting satire skewering homophobia remains as relevant – and highly entertaining – as it was on its first release in the late ‘90s.

While his parents work, he spends his summer vacation exploring his backyard and inadvertently wreaking havoc on his cranky neighbor Mr. Wilson, comically portrayed by Walter Matthau. With an all-star cast that includes Lea Thompson, Dame Joan Plowright and Christopher Lloyd.

It’s a boy! After having defeated eternal dream stalker Freddy Krueger, a pregnant Alice Johnson finds that he is invading the dreams of her unborn child in order to gain access to a new crop of victims. Star Robert Englund is at his most cartoonish in this final entry of The Dream Trilogy (films 3-5). Though initially panned for many years, the film has developed a new appreciation with its gothic and surreal dreamscapes, along with more mature themes of motherhood and trauma.

Seventies Sundays showcases some of the most beloved films from the “New Hollywood” era on the big screen. Featuring early works from iconic filmmakers Steven Spielberg & George Lucas to eccentric hits like Harold and Maude and Smokey and the Bandit.
