Have you ever driven down State of Franklin Road or passed State of Franklin Bank and wondered where the name came from?

The next Tales of Our 250th will explore the Lost State of Franklin, the first attempt at statehood outside of the original 13 colonies, with Jonesborough serving as its first capital.

The evening will include a scene from The First and Last Town in Tennessee and a historical discussion with Dr. William Hardy and the co-directors of Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site.
