Most everyone knows Bear and Nancy Regan “the drivein dogs” and knows Bear crossed over the rainbow bridge two weeks ago and that Nancy is pretty sick herself. Well I was told that Friday night someone just walked up to Nancy while she was laying on the ground at the concession and kicked her for no reason.
I don’t get it why would someone do that. I mean she is old and sickly I would hope if she was being ugly with someone they would come and tell me and not just kick her. It’s just sad. She doesn’t have much longer and I just let her lay wherever she wants to, as long as she isn’t bothering anyone. I just thought I would share this story.

We are so fortunate to have a hometown Drivein. I remember going to the drivein as a kid. I love seeing families after families keep coming back to build their own memories at the drivein. Some kids never get to experience this amazing adventure so if you are able at all to bring your children at least once during the summer it will be something they will never forget!

Drive-in night had its own kind of magic.

The kids showed up in pajamas like it was perfectly normal to go to the movies half-ready for bed. Blankets got piled in the back seat, popcorn bags crinkled, the window speaker crackled, and the whole family settled in like the car had turned into a little living room under the stars.

You could hear other cars around you.
You could see kids climbing over seats.
You could smell popcorn, summer air, and old upholstery.

And somewhere between the previews, the snacks, and trying to stay awake, the night started feeling bigger than the movie itself.

Most of us probably missed the ending half the time.

But we remember the glow of that screen, the blanket over our knees, and the feeling that a simple drive-in movie was one of the best adventures a family could have without ever leaving town.
