The ACME Screening Room is a non-profit weekly independent and documentary film series. The series regularly features guest speakers (authors, directors, activists), post-film discussion programs and/or exhibitions and dinners, held in conjunction with a film. Our programs bring the world of film to life for our audience members and create a space to reflect on films by artists at all levels: from local filmmakers to nationally recognized professionals.

SURFILMUSIC a new documentary chronicling Jack Johnson’s evolution from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician. The film traces how Johnson’s early years making surf films with close friends became a foundation for a much broader creative life, capturing moments in and out of the water that later surfaced in his songwriting.
