NEWS FROM KENNA WONG GHAILL FILM PROGRAMMER, Art Theatre of Long Beach!
“This film week brings together stories that show how resistance is imagined and brought to life through design across scales and disciplines. Throughout the week, screenings are paired with conversations, panels, and gatherings.”

ARCHITECTON, 4/24-25. In Architecton, directed by Victor Kossakovsky, landscapes of quarries, ruins, and construction sites frame a quiet reflection on how we build. THE ARCHITECTURE OF DOOM, 4/26. The Architecture of Doom examines the role of aesthetics in the rise and ex*****on of N**i power. This special screening features a live score by Cliff Retallick, performed with piano, organ, and theremin.

CALIFORNIA SCENARIO, 4/26. PANEL WITH FILMMAKING TEAM. Directed by James Takata (2026), California Scenario unfolds within Landscape Architect and designer Isamu Noguchi’s iconic “California Scenario” sculpture garden in Costa Mesa.
