I applied to be a special student and take classes without credit at Madison. I got this email. Are they calling me illegal? Am I reading between the lines? Our office is in need of additional information to determine your residence for tuition status. We are therefore requesting the following information to verify your eligibility for resident tuition:
ยท * What date (MM/DD/YYYY) did you last move to Wisconsin and why did you move to this state?
ยท * Your residence application indicates that you are employed by Teachers On Call in Bloomington, MN. In a recent phone call, you indicated that you work in the Madison area even though the company is based in Minnesota. Therefore, please indicate (1) which schools you have worked for in the past two years, and (2) if the state income taxes withheld from your pay are Wisconsin or Minnesota.
ยท * Provide documentation of your physical presence in Wisconsin during each of the last 12 months. Documenting physical presence requires, at minimum, 3 to 4 documents for each of the months requested. Generally, the documents must be in your name only (you may contact us for exceptions). You can find a list of acceptable documents and additional instructions at http://registrar.wisc.edu/documentation_of_physical_presence.htm . PLEASE NOTE: If you can provide documentation showing the places and dates you have worked over the past 12 months, that document may satisfy this requirement.
ยท * Do you expect any changes in your employment or any activities that involve extensive travel or relocation between today and the first day of your classes? If so, please explain. If currently unemployed, please also indicate how you plan to support yourself financially between today and the first day of your classes.
