New Social Engine - FDU chapter

New Social Engine - FDU chapter NSE is an organization that promotes and provides sober fun for college students. New Social Engine uses three strategies to accomplish its goals.

The majority of college students believe that they CAN have as much or more fun without using drugs or alcohol. Students often say “there’s nothing fun to do” on campus on weekends, and that their primary social opportunities come from on campus alcohol centered parties. New Social Engine offers events that are substance free to provide fun, social opportunities without the negative consequences.

Examples of these include free bowling nights, free movie nights, free funplex nights, humans vs zombies, etc. Alternatives, Awareness, and Advocacy. Alternative Activities – Create fun alcohol and drug free events for students. Awareness Campaigns –Convey important Information through various media and peer to peer discussion. Advocating for Change – Partners students with college personnel and community members to change systems that facilitate alcohol and drug abuse. NSE is currently in Drew University, County College of Morris and Fairleigh Dickinson University (Florham Campus).
