And right in the heart of it all is our beloved Cameo Theatre, still sporting its original 1948 Art Deco façade! 🎬✨

Cameo Theatre Memories..

"One Friday night in 1980 the theater was packed with the usual rowdy teenagers doing everything but watching the movie. Suddenly someone in the balcony lit a bottle rocket. It shot straight down from the balcony, under all of the bottom floor rows of seats and feet, hit the stage at the front, and flew straight up into the curtain, setting it on fire. Luckily, Mr. Florence was standing at the back and rushed to the front to put the fire out as hundreds of teenagers screamed and panicked. Needless to say, Mr. Florence walked to the back to stop the projector and came back to the front to give us a dressing down about how dangerous that kind of behavior was. I've never heard the Cameo be as quite as it was while he let the entire theater have it! I don't think a sound was made by anyone for the rest of the movie!" -Robert
