Seven months.
It’s hard to believe that just seven months ago we signed the lease on The Malverne with a dream, a whole lot of hope, and an empty building that needed a lot of love.
Today, we’re excited to share a few behind-the-scenes photos of just how far we’ve come. Every wall that’s been painted, every seat that’s been moved, every room that’s been cleaned, organized, repaired, and reimagined has been made possible through the dedication of volunteers, generous donations, and countless hours of hard work.
What makes this journey even more special is that this entire renovation is being led by two nonprofit organizations—Dente’s Dreamers ( Maria Dente )and Entertainment 2 Affect Change (Entertainment to Affect Change ). There isn’t a construction company with an unlimited budget behind the scenes. It’s neighbors, friends, families, volunteers, and supporters rolling up their sleeves because they believe in what The Malverne can become.
We know many of you are excited (and so are we!) and ask when the doors will officially open. The truth is... we’re getting close! We already have some exciting events on the calendar and can’t wait to welcome everyone inside. Every day brings us one step closer.
Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, your donations, your volunteer hours, and for believing in this dream. This theater is being built by the community, for the community, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.
