In 2004, R. Michael Wrenn, a private investor and fourth generation member of the community, began buying propertie
s in Marceline for the purpose of preserving and protecting historic sites. Since many of the images in Walt Disney’s cartoons and movies were inspired by his memories of Marceline, the company formed to purchase these properties was called, The Magic of Marceline Projects, Inc. The team supporting this initiative is dedicated to providing attractive opportunities for new business to relocate to Marceline, and sustain the community’s growth. It includes a group of dedicated civic and business leaders and Mike Wrenn’s Assistant Economic Development Director, Toni Sportsman.
