EXCITING NEWS, FOLKS! A unique kind of car show is coming to the Midway! While classic cars will certainly be a key focus, this event is for anyone who is (as rock legends Queen sang) in love with their car. Old or new, truck or coupe, mint or a work-in-progress; everything is welcome! What better place to show off your wheels than a drive-in movie theatre? And if you're still dreaming of that special vehicle in your driveway, this is the perfect event for you to check out all the cool stuff that's out there.

This is John writing. I was approached by a gentleman who possesses not just a passion for cars and drive-in theatres, but who also holds a longtime, sincere, specific passion for the Midway Drive-In. Jim Smith proposed holding a weekly car show at the Midway. When my Dad was still alive we had intermittent car shows, and I've always wanted to bring them back. I apologize to those who proposed similar events to me in the past, that I never followed up on. It took me years to find my sea legs after my dad's sudden passing. I usually put in about 60 hours per week running normal operations and the drive-in is on my mind nearly 24/7, so extensive special event planning has felt out of reach for me. I was very impressed with Jim's enthusiasm and his detailed business plan. While we'll physically be hosting the event, Jim has total control of the operation through his company "Cruise In Events." With this partnership I can stay focused on the traditional business but still offer additional entertainment during the day at beautiful "Lady Midway" - as I affectionately like to call this sweet little place that has been part of the tapestry of our wonderful community for 78 fun-filled years.

Our concession stand will be open with a limited snack menu, but Jim will be bringing in food trucks for more substantial eating options.

Just to be clear, Cruise In Events is a separate business from the Midway Drive-In. All responsibility for the event is in the capable hands of Jim Smith and his staff. Our involvement is strictly limited to helping with promotions and allowing usage of the facility. STARTING FRIDAY JULY 31st - SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY and YOUNG WASHINGTON!

Showtimes are the earliest a feature will start, and may vary slightly. Gates open at 7:00pm on Friday & Saturday and at 7:30pm on Sunday & Thursday. Arrive before 8pm on Friday and Saturday for shorter lines and parking closer to the screen. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED WITHIN ONE FOOT OF ANY POST. There is room for two vehicles between each set of posts. There is no saving of spaces, please. Blankets and chairs must be placed just within your space. Your cooperation with our guidelines is very much appreciated.

We accept cash, cards, and smartphone pay. Admission is STILL just $10 per person ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 7 to 11, free for ages 6 & under, and $8 for military and veterans, with ID. As always, your ticket price covers all the movies in an evening, and you may enter and exit at the times of your choosing. We show rain or starshine. We're located at 2475 NYS-48 in Fulton/Minetto.

The grassy area beneath and in front of the screen along with rows 1, 2, & 3 are now non-smoking. Smoking is permitted next to the projection booth. We strongly encourage smokers throughout the lot to step away from their neighbors to limit sidestream smoke exposure. Even though we are an outdoor theater, smoke (like voices) travels much farther than many realize.

Please always watch your step on the lot. We encourage you to use a phone/flash light to point at the ground while walking in the dark.

Our speed limit is 5 MPH. PLEASE watch for children and people on blankets and chairs, and please use your headlights anytime your vehicle is in motion on our lot. It's better to cause a distraction than to cause an accident.

We offer a wide-variety of delicious food and drink in our concession stand. Have dinner with us! Everything we serve is highest-quality, freshly prepared, and reasonably priced. Your support in our snack bar is the best way you can help ensure the future of the Midway, as the film studios take at least half of each ticket we sell.

Please secure hatches down to roof level to lessen obstruction of the screen for the patrons behind you. Bungee cords and ratchet straps work great for this, and we have twine available for no charge at the projection booth.

The marked spots on both sides of the six posts closest to the snack bar in rows 3, 4, and 5 are reserved for handicapped parking.

We broadcast the soundtrack at 87.9FM. Tune in upon entrance for helpful hints and great tunes. The superior sound is through your car stereo. The soundtrack sounds terrific and you control the volume. If you prefer to sit outside or not to use your car stereo, we implore you to bring along your own portable FM radio or boombox. Many online stores sell FM radios. OUR LIMITED LOANER RADIOS GO FAST, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. We have them for folks with vehicle issues. Apologies, we do not have an app for the soundtrack.

A quick start of your engine for a minute or two, every hour or so, is a good idea to keep your battery strong. Usually, when vehicles need jumps, lights or defogger fans have been on. It's a good idea to run your vehicle when you're running those fans. If you need a jump it's no problem, no charge! Just come to the projection booth if you need any help whatsoever.

Our sincere apologies, due to a server issue we are still unable to offer our traditional Sunday night open-captioning.

Starting Friday July 31st and continuing through Thursday August 20th, ALL CROUSE HEALTH EMPLOYEES can enter the Midway Drive-In Theatre with up to six occupants per vehicle for only $20! And each Crouse vehicle receives a coupon for a free large pizza and coupons for free small popcorns for each person in the car! No sign up necessary, and you can come as often as you'd like during the three week span. Crouse Health employee with badge must be present. This event is sponsored by Crouse Health Leadership.

To clarify, we are still open to the general public during this event.

The Midway Drive-In Theatre is located at 2475 NYS Route 48 in Fulton/Minetto. Admission includes all the movies in an evening, and you may enter and exit at the times of your choosing. We show rain or starshine.

This event features the PREMIERE of one of the most-anticipated movies of the summer, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY! Due to contractual obligations with Sony this film must play for three weeks, but we'll be changing the co-feature for each week. They weather is great here in Minetto! Even if there's clearing in the evening, when it rains during the day crowds are always much lighter. So come on out, there's plenty of room!
