"I didn't think anything could top 'Oppenheimer' and Chris' first film 'Following.' He is the definitive filmmaker of our time," says one veteran Academy member in attendance.

“This was like the NBA All-Star game of acting,” a member of the acting branch says. “Matt [Damon], both 'Johns' [Bernthal and Leguizamo], Rob [Pattinson], Anne [Hathaway] were incredible. Good luck to those of us that have movies coming out the rest of the year.”

“I thought it was spectacular,” another anonymous Oscar voter adds. “A little bit long but massive in scale.”

The Cinerama Dome/ArcLight, 6360 Sunset Blvd. -- Sony Pictures will be restoring the Dome and ArcLight and reopening both venues in early 2028. The Dome will retain its name and branding while the 14-plex behind will operate as an Alamo Drafthouse. The news of the deal initially came from Ben Steinberg, of the Save the Cinerama Dome campaign. He's been briefed on the plans by Sony and will be participating with the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation in the oversight of the historic aspects of the Dome during renovations.
