An observation that I made making my way round the U.S film festival circuit, was a lack of women like myself who want to break into the industry, either for lack of confidence in a male dominated industry, or for lack of opportunities available for women. It is a known fact that "in 2014, 85% of films had no female directors, 80% had no female writers, 33% had no female producers, 78% had no fema

le editors and 92% had no female cinematographers, according to the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University." And I am sure you will agree with me, these numbers are shocking. So that's why JewMaican Productions was created, We aim to create opportunity's for women in the Film and TV sector. We want to change those statistics, and give women the power and platform to take the roles that are normally given to men, and help build their careers, by giving them the credits and experience on our productions, helping women to gain more confidence to apply to bigger projects. We are making creative stories that involve strong complex female characters, written by women, for women. I hope you join us on our journey!
