Movie Heroes took the theatrical world by storm when they launched a Netflix-style theatrical membership model to save their local theater. The former owners closed the theater in 2012, shocking the community. Matt Sconce and Keith Walker, childhood friends, with their friend James Nelson, created a plan to save the theater. They not only saved the theater and were able to re-open it, but were als

o surprised by the extremely positive unexpected results of the conversion to a membership model. Now, with almost 4,000 members, their five-screen, first-run theater is a destination for local patrons and tourists alike. Movie Heroes transforms movie going by bringing excellence to the viewing experience and creating a place of freedom where cost is not a consideration in watching a movie. Yosemite VR is the only permanent Positron Powered Virtual Reality theater in the United States. The groundbreaking experience is narrated by Bryan Cranston. A quick note before your visit: While we're excited to welcome everyone back, some restoration work is still underway following the water damage. Drying fans will remain in operation, and you may notice some minor repair activity as we complete the final stages of restoration.

🚻 Please note that the front restrooms will be closed for approximately the next two weeks. Restrooms located near Theaters 3, 4, and 5, as well as those in the VR area, will be available for guests.

We've worked hard to minimize any disruption so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the movies.

🎉 We're Reopening Tomorrow! 🍿

The wait is over! We're excited to welcome everyone back to Yosemite Cinema beginning Friday, July 17.

First, thank you for all of the patience, encouragement, and support you've shown us while we've worked through the unexpected water damage. Your kind messages truly kept our spirits up.

As we reopen, you may notice a few reminders that restoration is still in progress:
🎬 Drying fans will be running, so there will be some background noise.
🛠️ A few areas are still being cleaned up and repaired.
🚻 Our front restrooms will be closed for approximately the next two weeks, but restrooms near Theaters 3, 4, & 5 and the VR area will be available.

We're doing everything we can to minimize any disruption while we put the finishing touches on the repairs.

And what better way to reopen than with The Odyssey hitting the big screen tomorrow? We can't wait to see everyone back, grab some popcorn, and get back to doing what we love—sharing great movies with our amazing community.
