Unfortunately, lightning is within a mile of Sunset Island, with severe weather expected through 7pm, we will be closing the indoor and outdoor pool for the remainder of the afternoon.

We apologize for the inconvenience but your safety is our priority.

The lightning has officially cleared our immediate area. Our official reopening time is 3:30 pm, as long as no other weather comes back that requires us to close again.

The pools remain closed as of 2:00 pm, while we wait for the weather to clear our area. Until then we do not have a specific time for reopening.

We will continue to keep you updated as we monitor the weather.

Pools Closed until Weather Conditions Clear - 7/21/2026
Good Morning,

Before we could even finish cleaning and setting up the pools this morning, thunder and lightning entered our area. The pools will remain closed until the thunder passes and the lightning clears out the 8-mile area. Below is information for our storm procedures.

⛈️ STORM & POOL SAFETY INFORMATION ⛈️
Be Prepared for Inclement Weather
Should storms move into our area, please be aware of the following pool safety procedures:
🌧️ Rain Only
• The Outdoor Pool will close.
• The Indoor Pool will remain open while conditions permit.
• Once the heaviest rain has passed, the Outdoor Pool may reopen.
⛈️ Thunder
• Both the Indoor and Outdoor Pools must close immediately.
• The entire pool deck must be cleared.
• Pools may reopen 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder is heard.
⚡ Lightning Within an 8-Mile Radius
• Both pools and the entire pool deck must close immediately.
• Pools may reopen 1 hour after lightning has left the 8-mile radius area.
📱 How We Monitor Storms
Our Aquatics Team utilizes the WeatherBug app to track lightning activity and determine when it is safe to reopen pool facilities.
Safety Comes First

These procedures are in place to protect the safety of all residents, guests, and staff. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during weather-related closures.
