The 502 of the name refers to the theatre's minimal footage. This tiny cinema features tiered seating, the best to offer in sound, and picture. cinema embodies the spirit of true independent film exhibition. The is a quick walk (2.5 blocks) from the Ogden UTA Frontrunner station. During the summer months the city trolley stops across the street.

Okay... so apparently I jumped the gun and I really don’t need to let the cinema go... please don’t be too disappointed in my indecisiveness. I am going to go on a limb here and be really honest: I live with severe bipolar disorder, and it’s hard to be consistent. But something that consistently gives me joy is the cinema and I have come to realize the cinema needs to be the last thing to go when things are tough.

We apologize for the whiplash. For those curious, we decided not to completely close the doors. We are however reworking our business plan which WILL include a film schedule in the fall — but really we need your help to get that going. We have generally had good success with classic films but we would like to show some first run art house films too. What are some of the things that kept you from routinely making Cinema 502 your go to for movies?

It’s with great trepidation that I write this. Cinema 502 has been a business on the street for over 7 years, but it is time to let her go. I am tired and would like to focus my energy and resources on other projects in my life. This message is going out to our FB followers first, I am accepting any and all cash offers on the cinema’s equipment. We have chairs, a screen, sound system, two popcorn machines, etc available for sale. Please send a message with what you’d like to offer.
