OKC Metro Chickasaw Community Council

OKC Metro Chickasaw Community Council Helping to ensure a strong and vibrant local Chickasaw community in the OKC Metro Area Dinner at 6 p.m., meeting and speakers at 7:00 p.m.

Our goal as a Council is to help strengthen the Chickasaw Community here by fostering friendships and exploring common interests among the many Chickasaw citizens living in the OKC Metro area. We meet for a Pot Luck Dinner the first Tuesday of every month (unless it conflicts with a Chickasaw Nation activity). We always have an interesting program and plenty of time for socializing with other Chic

kasaws. We meet at the OKC Chickasaw Community Center located at 4001 NW 39th Street, OKC 73112. Our speakers have included textile artist Margaret Roach Wheeler, Chickasaw Language Revitalization Director Joshua Hinson, poet Rebecca Travis, musician/composer Jerod Tate, Chickasaw Tribal Historian Richard Green, and a session on Chickasaw movie making with Robyn Elliott. Our speaker for February 4, 2020 is Chickasaw Fine Arts director and accomplished artist and musician Brent Greenwood.

Stretch and feel better while enjoying the AYA walk app.

Refresh Your Body After a Day of Sitting 🧘‍♀️
Spending all day sitting, whether at a conference, at a desk or on the road can leave you feeling stiff and tired. Stretching can help release tension, improve circulation and boost your energy!

Here are some simple stretches you can try after a long day of sitting:

🔹 Seated Spinal Twist – Sit tall, twist gently to one side and hold for a few breaths to release your back.

🔹 Cat-Cow Stretch – On hands and knees, alternate between rounding and arching your back to loosen your spine.

🔹 Figure Four Stretch – Lie down, cross one ankle over the opposite knee and gently pull toward you to open your hips.

Even just a few minutes of movement can make a difference. If you need more guidance, AYA Walk’s Mindfulness feature offers beginner-friendly movement sessions to help you reset and recharge.
