Shankweiler's Drive-In first lit up the night sky in 1934, and has been entertaining moviegoers on it's massive outdoor screen ever since. It is the second drive-in theater ever constructed, and the oldest operating drive-in theater in the America and the world! Our goal here at Shankweiler's is to preserve and evolve an important piece of history while crafting an unforgettable moviegoing experience in a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere.

Starts Friday, June 5: Shankweiler's Drive-In is premiering MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, a live‑action reimagining of the beloved and iconic 1980s series and franchise! After intermission, we trade far‑away planets for other, more foreboding planes of existence with A24’s new liminal sci‑fi thriller, BACKROOMS!

Our Movie Schedule June 5 - 8, 10, & 11*
7:00pm – Gates open
9:00pm – Masters of the Universe – PG13
11:15pm – Backrooms – R

*Tuesday, June 9, we're kicking off our Retro Tuesday series with RENT!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who participated in our first-ever Once Upon A Drive-In... FairyTale Market in May 2026. We had sunny weather (despite the wind), strong attendance, and a lot of fun. Thank you also to A Storybook Party for allowing Elsa❄️ to come visit the market!

Did you attend? What was your favorite purchase? Should we do it again next year?

We will do a more official follow-up, I'm sure, but we wanted to take a moment and thank our amazing vendors and customers for joining us at our very first Fairy Tale Market this morning/afternoon at Shankweiler's. The event was a huge success, and it was wonderful to see the community come together in such a creative and celebratory way! Thank you all for going the extra mile with costumes, decorations, and an enthusiasm that really made this market extra special! We're just over the moon.

Speaking of moon, we're back tonight for movies under the stars! Gates reopen at 6:30pm for our double feature of The Mandalorian followed by Backrooms!

Happening now through 3PM at Shankweiler's! The "Once Upon A Drive-In..." Fairy Tale Market features about 80 curated vendors celebrating mythical creatures and magical worlds, fantasy and folklore, bringing themes from fairy tales and movies to life. Our favorite snow queen will also be here from 11 to 12 for a (free) meet & greet and photos. Stop by to shop, grab a bite to eat, and be delighted and entertained. Admission to this event is free!
