DEAD OF NIGHT (1945) is a pioneering British horror anthology film of 6 stories; strangers gather at a country farmhouse for a tale of the supernatural, a race car driver's premonitions from beyond the grave, children playing in an old English estate encounter another boy hidden away in rooms upstairs, a young married couple's life is turned upside down by the spousal gift of an antique mirror with horror within, a pair of golfer's haunting winning stakes and a ventriloquist's controlling dummy that drives his master into madness.
In the cast, Michael Redgrave, Sally Ann Howes, Googie Withers, Basil Radford and Mervyn Johns.
The stories are from authors H. G. Welles, Angus MacPhail, E.E. Benson and John Baines.
Four great directors handle these segments, including Charles Crichton, Basil Dreaden, Alberto Cavalcanti and Robert Hamer.
We are presenting the complete, uncut british release version in a new 4K scan from archival materials of the Ealing Studios.
