A few words from me about American Horror Story: 13 so far, six episodes in. As someone who was a day one viewer and fan of the show when it first premiered on October 5, 2011 - I love this season so far. Its second season, ASYLUM, I will defend on a witness stand as one of the best seasons of television I've ever seen. I loved the first six seasons so much, and I had to watch every episode immediately. Season 7, CULT, is where the show lost me - where I realized several days later that there was a new episode I hadn't watched yet, which previously would have been unheard of for me. I dutifully checked out each season since, but they never won me over, or at worst betrayed my initial love of the show. But 13 feels like the series I fell in love with again, and I am honestly baffled, perplexed, and deeply disappointed by the hate it's getting from the online fandom. Watch it, and make up your own mind.

I want to hug this movie and everyone who made it. It's not a horror movie, it is about horror movies and how they affect us when we see them at impressionable ages, and maybe, just maybe, how they can help us free ourselves. A beautiful romance and a gleeful tribute and critique of the 80s slasher. I watched most of this movie with the biggest smile on my face, and cried at the end at how happy it made me feel. Destined to become a classic. Go see it.
