The Millennium Cinema was built in 2000 by Lorri and Jim Rosemeyer, lifelong residents of Platteville. "We felt there was a n
eed for a state of the art complex that could provide the area with the latest Hollywood had to offer. While, still giving our customers the hometown feel that they are accustomed to." In 2007, the Millennium Cinema joined the Avalon, in Platteville, the Grantland, in Lancaster, and the Dodge Theater, in Dodgeville, as part of a family of movie theaters. Duane and Michele DeYoung purchased the Millennium from the Rosemeyers in April of 2007. Over the years the Millennium Cinema has positioned itself on the forfront of the entertainment business, from hosting all inclusive birthday parties, renting out theaters for business meetings, and playing videogames, such as XBOX and Playstation, on the big screen, to hosting Post Proms and other large events.
