Mann Plymouth Grand 15

10/05/2026

We heard you. Christopher Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY is coming to IMAX at Plymouth.

Oct. 8–14 only. Limited engagement.

When the film opened this summer, our IMAX theatre didn’t exist yet.

So if you saw it at Plymouth the first time around, you’ve never seen it here like this.

Shot entirely with IMAX cameras, this is exactly the kind of movie we built this room for.

Missed it the first time? Here’s your chance!

It’s done.

A little over ninety days ago, this was our XDX in Auditorium 14. Today, it’s IMAX® at Plymouth Grand 15…the only IMAX in the northwest metro.

This is the transformation, start to finish. Thank you to every crew member, contractor and partner who helped make it happen.

Tomorrow, you get to experience it.

DIGGER starts tomorrow in IMAX.

Less than a week away.

After months of work, the room is nearly finished. The exterior is coming together. And our new IMAX theatre at Plymouth Grand 15 is almost ready for its first show!

A few final touches. Then the lights go down.

IMAX at Plymouth Grand 15 opens October 1.

It’s starting to look like an IMAX theatre.

The screen frame is nearly finished, the new IMAX sound system is more than halfway installed, and Auditorium 14 is changing fast.

A lot of the work over the last few weeks has been hidden behind walls, ceilings and scaffolding. Now you can actually start to see what this room is becoming.

And next week, we get to share another big milestone…tickets for Digger, the first film opening in our new IMAX theatre.

October 2 is getting close!

Another look inside the IMAX transformation at Plymouth Grand 15.

This week brought one of the biggest pieces of the project — literally.

The crew brought the new IMAX screen into Auditorium 14 and carefully moved it into place ahead of installation.

There’s still plenty of work happening behind the scenes, but this is one of those moments where the transformation starts to feel very real.

We’ll keep taking you inside the build as we get closer to opening our new IMAX theatre on October 1.

Thanks for following along. More progress soon.

Big news! 🎬
The Mann Plymouth Grand 15 Theatre is making a major investment and bringing IMAX to the city, one of the best premium screens available for an unforgettable movie experience.

IMAX delivers massive scale, crystal‑clear projection, and immersive sound…and it’s coming right to Plymouth.

This will also be the only family‑owned theatre in Minnesota with an IMAX, making it a special addition to our community.

The new IMAX is expected to open in early October. Stay tuned for updates! 🍿

Another look inside the IMAX transformation at Plymouth Grand 15.

Work is moving quickly inside Auditorium 14. The recliners are protected, scaffolding is up throughout the room, and the projection booth is being modified for the new IMAX with Laser system.

One of the behind-the-scenes changes: the projection booth ceiling needs to be raised to make room for the new IMAX projection system, cooling and wiring. The projection window also has to move slightly to line up with the new projector.

There’s still a lot happening behind the scenes, but Auditorium 14 already looks very different from just a few weeks ago.

We’re excited to show you how this room changes over the next few weeks as we get closer to opening our new IMAX theatre on October 1.

Thanks for following along. We’ll keep sharing the progress!

About 12 years ago, we transformed Auditorium 14 into XDX.

Yesterday morning, its screen came down, and a new chapter began.

This fall, Auditorium 14 will become the first IMAX auditorium in Mann Theatres history and one of the most exciting investments we’ve ever made at Plymouth Grand 15.

XDX will continue to be part of the Plymouth experience, too. It’s moving to Auditorium 4, where it will receive some exciting upgrades of its own.

There’s a lot of work to do between this empty wall and our first IMAX movie, and we’re excited to bring you behind the scenes as it all comes together.

Have a question about the IMAX project? Ask below. We’d love to hear from you.

Mann said the Plymouth location will be the only family-owned, locally based Minnesota theater company operating an IMAX and will bring the format to an area where moviegoers have previously had to travel farther to find one.
