Greetings, Lovers of The Dragonfly -

As many of you know, we ceased operations a handful of months ago in the hopes that in the near future we could re-open as a non-profit organization and while we’re saddened by the fact that we weren’t able to make that happen, we’re happy that the arts will continue to live on in this space. The Paradise Theatre is raising funds now and hopes to buy the Dragonfly Cinema building. If you’re interested and able to donate, please visit their website. We want to thank you again for your support over the many, many years. It’s been one of the highlights of our lives to bring quality and independent film to Kitsap. And don’t forget to check out the West Sound Film Festival when they return next year.

We look forward to sharing more updates with the community on our go forward plan in the coming days and weeks.

Greetings Lovers of the Dragonfly,

We sincerely thank you and the Port Orchard community for supporting the Dragonfly. Last week we celebrated our communal love of film with the third annual Port Orchard Film Festival and it was three wonderful days of sharing that love with filmmakers from around the world in our town. It warmed our hearts to have the Dragonfly host the festival downtown on Bay Street.

Our mission from day one has been to bring world-class, quality cinema to our community, and the Port Orchard Film Festival has been the crown jewel of that goal. It is fitting then that with another successful festival now in the books, we announce that we are looking for new stewards for the Dragonfly, to take it further into the future so that it may continue to solidify its position as a cultural fixture in the community. We are truly thankful for all of the love and support we have received in the last 3.5 years of running the Dragonfly, and we cannot wait to see where it goes next.

We are open to all interested parties, but especially those that might be willing to work as part of a team to transition to a nonprofit structure. The future for the arts in Port Orchard and Kitsap County is bright and we believe that there are many who would like to shepherd the Dragonfly forward.

If you are interested in being involved in any capacity, please e-mail us at [email protected] by Friday, May 17th as we seek to bring everyone to the table at the end of May to forge the path forward.

It’s been an incredible weekend and there’s so much to look forward to today🥇🎞

Its the last day of our 😢 and while we’re sad it’s coming to a close, there’s still so much to see & do today! We have an amazing feature at 11am, the Self Discovery Block at 11:30, the Short Docs at 12:45, the Thought Provoking Block at 1pm and the Life After Death Block at 2pm followed by the Awards 🥇 Ceremony at 3pm! The is rocking & rolling and it’s so beautiful down here on Bay St. The Music Video block starts at 6:05pm, the Horror Block is at 7:00pm and we have two features coming up at 5:30pm and 8:25pm. Tickets are available at the concessions stand. We also have a great line up from 11am - 2pm on Sunday. See you soon! 🎞
