Shawnee Film Club

Shawnee Film Club Throughout the Spring 2013 semester at SSU, we will be holding weekly film screenings every Thursday night at 7:00PM in room 203 of Massie Hall.

The purpose of the Shawnee Film Club is to enrich the intellectual lives of its members through the collective appreciation, analysis and discussion of the medium of film. Last semester, we utilized a democratic approach to choosing our films, allowing members to vote each week from a list of four films chosen by the officers. The system worked well, but we're mixing it up for the spring. This sem

ester, the officers have created a diverse lineup of pre-selected films. The dates for each showing will be announced in advance, giving our members an opportunity to better plan for the films they want to see most. We hope you'll come to all of them, of course. The films being shown this semester are (not necessarily in this order):
Gray Gardens (1976)
North By Northwest (1959)
Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
I Saw the Devil (2010)
Ghost World (2001)
The Silent Partner (1978)
Drive (2011)
Rashomon (1950)
A History of Violence (2005)
The Elephant in the Living Room (2010)
Matewan (1987)

Screenings are open to all students, faculty and staff of the university. They will be held every week on Thursday in Massie, room 203, at 7:00PM.
