Romantic comedy meets political thriller in Stanley Donen’s Charade. Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) was going to leave her husband. At least, that was the plan before he was murdered. Donen weaves a tight, referential thriller that takes as much joy in its comedic turns as it does with its masterful plot. Full of red herrings, secret identities, and a whodunnit at its center, Charade lets Hepburn and Cary Grant’s chemistry carry the film to the finish line with fashionable efficiency.

With a sweeping, haunting score and gorgeous, moody cinematography, The Piano is anchored by two exquisite Oscar-winning performances from Holly Hunter and Anna Paquin, whose enthralling mother-daughter relationship is the heart of the film.

The new 4K UHD restoration — deepening shadows and clarifying details — was supervised and approved by Jane Campion and her director of photography, Stuart Dryburgh, and the original audio was remastered for an even richer quality.
