A failed filmmaker-turned-carpenter is hired by his successful sculptor friend to renovate his home and, in turn, has to come to grips with his life as a single dad caring for an aging father. In this black comedy of the vagaries of the modern workplace, the filming merges real-life construction with video game-like visuals.

Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Poh Si Teng was so devastated by the violence in Palestine and simultaneously noticed how tirelessly Americans watch medical drama television shows, so she decided to make a real-life documentary in the style of ER or The Pitt. It follows three American physicians—Palestinian, Jewish, and Zoroastrian— who travel to Gaza to do what they do best: save lives.

Expect an experience as rebellious and energetic as the Bu****le Surfers themselves from this highly anticipated music documentary. With puppetry, animation, and interviews by creative heavy-hitters like Ice-T, Dave Grohl, Flea, Richard Linklater, and Henry Rollins, the rise of post-punk in the 80s continues its anarchic trend, especially through the deep stories from troubled times that set the stage for the psychedelic punk wildness.

The Friedmans were a respected middle-class family in Long Island until their front door was beaten down one Thanksgiving; the father and youngest son were charged with child molestation. This highly-lauded crime documentary uses intimate video diaries and interviews to allow the accused Friedmans to lead their own narrative of their dysfunctional family story. As a result, the film is as much about 1980s community hysteria and a deeply flawed legal process as much as it’s about child abuse.

Tragic and absurd, Wolfgang Becker creates a tender portrait of family life, underscored by the complicated ways politics infiltrate our home, our relationships, and our ways of life.
