It's been a bit since we posted, but things have been a little crazy over here. That said, we feel you all needed to know the State of Tentsmiths.
For the past 18 months, we've been fortunate to have a number of orders come our way, but that has led to a delay in our delivery times. We are not, despite what some may think, a massive company (4 full timers and 3 part time) and we don't really have the room to expand. We've got things that we've put in place to start shrinking that wait, but they aren't immediate fixes. We appreciate you working with us.
In more heavy news, one of our owners, Alena, learned in the spring that she had breast cancer. This is a sad parallel to the battle Peter had over a decade ago, but she had surgery yesterday that went VERY well and is, according to the surgeon, currently cancer-free and will not need chemo or radiation. Of course, lots of health checks and the like are on the table for the future, but we're hopeful that this is now behind us.
Obviously, that has disrupted things a bit as well, with focus being on making sure she got healthy and allowing us as a family to take some time to deal with it. We're sorry for the hiccups, and a HUGE shout out to the rest of the shop for keeping the wheels on the bus.
As we head into the two events we're attending this year, Pennsic and Feast of the Hunter's Moon, we hope to see many of you there and hopefully share a smile and chat. We're still going forward, even if we aren't moving as fast as we like.
Stephen, Alena, Percy, and the rest of the Tentsmiths Family
