Film: Capitol Comedy Classics
BUCK PRIVATES (1941)
Saturday, November 7, 2:30 & 7:00 pm
Buck Privates was Universal Pictures' biggest hit of 1941, and firmly cemented Abbott & Costello as movie exhibitors' top performers, as well as Universal Pictures' biggest stars. Abbott and Costello play 'Slicker' Smith and 'Herbie' Brown, two sidewalk salesmen who try to dodge trouble and end up signing up to join the Army! Highlights of the film include the comedy duo's famous "dice game", "awkward squad", "turn on the radio" and "boxing ring" routines, as well as The Andrews Sisters singing such top-ten tunes as "Apple Blossom Time" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."
Also short subjects, "Tit for Tat" with Laurel and Hardy and "From Nurse to Worse" with the Three Stooges!

*Film: Hammer Horror Double Feature
BRIDES OF DRACULA (1960) &
THE GORGON (1964)
Saturday, October 24, 2:30 & 7:00 pm

Two hits from England's House of Horror, both in shrieking color!

In Brides of Dracula, young, blond Baron Meinster (David Peel) is the requisite vampiric threat in this second in the Dracula film series (sans Christopher Lee.) Though imprisoned in the family estate by his mother, Meinster is released from his silver chains by an unsuspecting French teacher (Yvonne Monlaur), through which he gains access to a veritable smorgasbord of nubile wenches at a girls' school. Fortunately, master vampire killer Dr. Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) is on the case.

Following this is The Gorgon, reteaming those masters of terrror, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Three people are mysteriously killed in a small town by being turned to stone. Suspicion falls on Dr. Namaroff (Peter Cushing), but Prof. Carl Maister (Christopher Lee), a folklore expert, claims that the murderer is actually a human possessed by the spirit of Magaera, one of Medusa's snake-haired sisters from Greek mythology.

Cinema Capitol Presents
THE MASK
Friday, October 23-Wednesday, October 28
After the sudden su***de of one of his patients, psychiatrist Paul Stevens is mailed a mysterious package containing an ancient ceremonial mask. The mask was sent to him by the patient before he died, and comes with a letter explaining that it is the cause of the patient’s insanity. The letter also states that should the doctor be brave enough, he will “put the mask on now.” Stevens does so, and is transported into a strange, horrific world. When he returns, he becomes more and more preoccupied with the terror that awaits him the next time he puts the mask on.

Heralded as Canada’s first three-dimensional film, this special engagement is the upstate New York premiere of the new 2K restoration by Kino Lorber and the 3-D Film Archive. You will be given the special viewers necessary to see the strange world of THE MASK!
