Ten more days to go until the 98th Academy Awards, the celebration of cinema near and dear to all of our hearts - and we're pleased to finally announce our exciting plans!

Join us at Franca's Wine Room (260 W. Dominick Street) for the Cinema Capitol's annual Oscars Viewing Party! Due to the ongoing repairs and renovations pending at Cinema Capitol, we have decided to to welcome you back to our friends and neighbors at Franca's, who are partnering with us to keep this event alive with more food, more drinks and more screens!

Admission this year will be $30, the cost of which covers all the food you'd like (including FREE POPCORN!) and a portion of which will go to the Cinema's ongoing recovery! There will be trivia, prizes, and games all night with several TVs and an open bar.

The doors will open at 6:30 pm, around the time the stars will be walking the red carpet, before the ceremony starts at 7:00 pm. Watch along with us and react in real time to all the surprises and the celebrations, and be prepared for some surprises and fun and games of our own! However YOU want to celebrate the biggest night in movies is exactly how WE want you to celebrate!

We have had great turnout over the last few years and we expect more of the same this year. We do advise getting advance tickets now on our website, romecapitol.com, so that you know you have a seat at the second best place to celebrate the cinema apart from the Dolby Theatre itself.

Oscar-Nominated Shorts will return to the Capitol Theatre!

Courtesy of Roadside Attractions, the annual presentation of the Oscar nominated shorts will be featured on the big screen of the Capitol Theatre March 1 - 7. In three separate screenings spread out throughout the week, enjoy the 2026 Oscar-nominated short films in Live Action, Animation, and Documentary.

Live Action (115 min.): Monday, March 2 at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 6 at 4:00 pm, and Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 pm.

Animation (67 min.): Sunday, March 1 at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 5 at 7:00 pm, and Saturday, March 7 at 4:00 pm.

Documentary (150 min.): Sunday, March 1 at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 pm, and Friday, March 6 at 7:00 pm.
