💃Dance on Film returns!

A group of friends gather to celebrate their mentor and learn that what lasts is those you leave behind. A freewheeling narrative enacted almost entirely through movement and music, Her Magnum Opus is an ode to creativity and community. A tantalizing mix of magic realism and improvised naturalism, the film unfolds in a bucolic setting– a beach, a forest, a country house which is a source of inspiration and solace. A remarkable feature debut for award-winning choreographer Renzi, for whom dancers have always been people first.

📍Her Magnus Opus. 5pm on 11.1

In 17th-century France, Father Grandier (Oliver Reed) is a priest whose unorthodox views on s*x and religion influence a passionate following of nuns, including the s*xually obsessed Sister Jeanne (Vanessa Redgrave). When the power-hungry Cardinal Richelieu (Christopher Logue) realizes he must eliminate Grandier to gain control of France, Richelieu portrays Grandier as a satanist and spearheads a public outcry to destroy the once-loved priest’s reputation.
