The Ken Cinema opened as the first theatre to bring quality foreign films to San Diego, and was the second theatre to be acquired by Landmark Theatres. The Ken offers a wide variety of films, from independent fare to foreign language cinema to restored classics. The theatre occasionally hosts San Diego's annual gay and lesbian film
